ARMA2 MODS

Post by Congo_Toey on Sat Jun 19, 2010 2:47 pm

First download the latest version of addon Sync 2009 from here http://dev-heaven.net/projects/list_files/yoma-addonsync2009

Install as normal

Then click setting in the top right corner and in here make sure that the "Arma1 installed on this pc" is not selected and that "Arma2 installed on this pc" is selected. Then make sure that the locations on the ARMA 2 Directory and Arma 2 exe are filled in correctly with the correct locations of your Arma 2 installation.

Mine are

C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2
and
C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Arma2.exe

it could be like this on yours

C:\Program files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2
C:\Program files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Arma2.exe

or if you have a steam install, it should be.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ArmA 2
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ArmA 2\Arma2.exe

or

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\ArmA 2
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\ArmA 2\Arma2.exe

Once that is configured you need to add two servers to favourite server list. So next click on the "favourite servers" tab, then on the "New Server" button. On the new server page now displayed make sure that you are in the Server->Autoconfiguration sub tabs and you should see a box in the main window called "Auto config URL" in there put this url http://www.kellys-heroes.eu/updater/ArmA2ACE-Repository/ArmA2ACE-Repo.7z, then click the "Import servers" button the right of that text box. It should then auto configure your server for you.

Then add the second server by clicking on the "favourite servers" tab again, then on the "New Server"
button. On the new server page now displayed make sure that you are in
the Server->Autoconfiguration sub tabs again and you should see a box in
the main window called "Auto config URL" again, in there put this urlhttp://www.kellys-heroes.eu/Updater/ArmA2Community-Repository/ArmA2Community-Repo.7z ,
then click the "Import servers" button the right of that text box. It
should then auto configure the second server for you.

Now you should see 2 new tabs next to the Favourite servers and Find Servers tabs, called "-=Kellys Heroes=- ArmA2 ACE2 Dedicated S" and "-=Kellys Heroes=- ArmA2 Community Reposi". These are your two download servers, one each one you need to follow these steps. Click the server tab you want to check for downloads on, then click the "Download addons" sub tab, click the button called "1) Check for addons" after it has finished checking for addons, make sure all of the boxes in the left sub pane are selected then click the button "2) Download Addons", this will start your downloads. You can do this for both servers at the same time.

Then follow any on screen instructions and when instructed delete the old files when it has finished downloading.

The Mods will be downloaded and installed automatically.

You can go back to check for updates regularly, next time you start the add on sync 2009 application you will see your favorite servers already there.

Once you have downloaded your mods you will need to use a launcher program to make sure that Arma 2 is configured to use the mods that you want to use. A good one is called Arma2 Launcher and can be downloaded from here http://junk.kegetys.net/ArmA2Launcher101.zip.

When you have downloaded and installed this then start it up and select your Arma2 executable and then go to Options->Mods and click the auto scan button, it will then detect your mods and click yes to add them, then exit the modifications box by clicking the cross in the top right corner. You will then see a list of possible mods to use. When you want to play a game of Arma2 you then slects the mods you want use and click start singleplayer, then you will be in the game as usual but now using the mods you downloaded.

Bad_Drugs, Shooter or myself can help with any question about his, beware there are a lots of mods to download and they are huge, so make sure you have enough HDD space, download bandwidth allowance and time to do it.
